Nip her dreams in the bud,

    she will strengthen her roots

and blossom into a mighty tree.

    Rip her heart into shreds,

    she will heal her wounds

    and shower love unconditionally.

    Burn her to a cinder,

she will rise from the ashes

    and set the world ablaze.

    Cast her into the wilderness,

    she will thrive among thorns

and quench the thirst of many.

Throw her hopes into the sea,

she will traverse through troubled waters

    and brave the raging storm.

    Abandon her in the dark,

she will glow like a firefly

and be a guiding flame for the lost.

    Clip off her sprouting wings,

    nevertheless, she will scale heights

    and soar beyond the horizon.

Drive her to the depths of despair,

she will fall as a seed

    and make the ground quake.

Scorn her, smite her, despise her,

hurt her, ignore her, reject her.

Bind her up, bring her down.

Crush her spirit, bury her soul.

But no matter what you do,

    she will never cease fighting,

For she was born a woman

    destined for greatness.

Beautifully observed, and true, strength grows from adversity and it takes true strength to be gentle
