We seek work that lingers\u2014stories, essays, and poetry that engage the inner life, explore human complexity, and offer meaning beyond the immediate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At its core, the magazine is guided by a clear editorial vision: literature can be both compelling and conscientious. We believe powerful writing does not need to rely on excess or provocation to be impactful. Instead, we are drawn to work that is intentional in its language, aware of its audience, and grounded in a sense of purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our approach is informed by an awareness of Islamic values\u2014not as a boundary that limits who we are, but as a perspective that shapes how we read and curate. This does <strong>not<\/strong> mean that Good Company Lit is an exclusively Islamic magazine, nor does it mean we publish only Muslim writers or speak only to a Muslim audience. On the contrary, we welcome diverse voices, backgrounds, and experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What it <em>does<\/em> mean is that we remain mindful of considerations that matter to many Muslim readers\u2014particularly around what is permissible (halal) and impermissible (haram).
